"Tagged"

Apparently I have been tagged. Thanks Steph! I supposedly have to give 10 weird habits, goals, facts...ect about myself and "tag" 6 other people to do the same and they have to pass it on too. I know this might not make sense, otherwise read Steph hill's blog and her rules are really good, and better explained then I can! Here is goes:
1. I have a really really bad addiction to Starbucks coffee. It is horrible. I have gone probably 7 or 8 days in a row of getting one every day. It is ridiculous I know.
2. I secretly think I am organized and neat, and cant believe it when I go to someone's house and it is a mess, but seriously...my house is SO bad ALL the time. I am suprised you can call me Sandy Kapenga's daughter.
3. Frozen Capri's Suns are awesome! Ryan and I eat them all the time and they are so good! Try it, you'll like it I promise!
4. All I have ever wanted to be truly is a mommy. That may sound corny yes, and of course everyone has little dreams when they are little..."I want to be a singer, or I want to be an artist, or a teacher..." but the most real thing, and the thing I actually ache to be is a mom, and now that I am, I truly feel complete. It is the most wonderful thing God has ever given me and I cant stress that enough. You never know you can love so incredibly deep until you're a mom.
5. I can crack almost everything crackable on my body.
6. I really miss playing soccer! I promise I really was good once. Ryan might mock me but I loved it and should never have given it up!
7. Ryan says I snore. I guess I do but I wouldnt know because I am sleeping. All I know is Ryan snores too.
8. I hate football. With a passion. Ooooooo it is horrible! Sorry football fans but I can not STAND IT! Football season is terrible because it is in the winter! Winter is long enough...let alone having to sit there on Sunday afternoons with my husband glued to the televison. I hate it.
9. Ummmm let see. I am on the internet probably more than I should be...or really need to be.
10. I cant swim very good. I do a doggie paddel. Haha. Seriously I really am a bad swimmer.

A Wonderful Gift

It was so nice! Ryan went to his friends house this afternoon to shoot his bow and took Evan with him. I was able to finally get a GOOD nap, not waking up to little whines. It was wonderful. Not that I dont love my kid or hanging out with him, but it is just a nice little break for myself. I have NEVER had this other than when I leave him to go to work. Trust me. I needed it. And I think Ryan thought I needed it too. :) I can be a bear when I am tiered.

Helmet Day!

Here he is! We went and got his new helmet today. So far so good. He didnt like it at first but I think it was just because we were messing with his head, but once it was on he is fine. I still think he is a cutie in it! We went to Grandma and Grandpa Kapenga's this morning to show them and they thought he needed a little football because he looks ready to tackle someone. :) Anyways-Just thought I would let everyone see him!!

I am sitting at work again bored. It is a pretty common trend here. There really is nothing to do when the phone doesnt ring. So here I am. I just thought I would let everyone know Evan gets his helmet tomorrow morning. He is going to look so stinkin cute. The cutest little boy with a helmet ever! Hopefully it will go well. He has been sleeping so well the last week, hopefully it wont mess him up too much. And by the way I think I was right about the tooth. I cant confirm it yet, but I am pretty sure that there is something coming through. There is just a little point on his bottom gum. I dont know, could be wrong...but he has been sleeping a LOT and a little fussier than normal. Could be wrong though. Anyway...I am sure I will have pictures up tomorrow of him in his helmet. Talk to you then!

We're an Aunt and Uncle Again

So I have been waiting for my sister-in-law to post the news but Ryan's brother and his wife are expecting their third child! We are so excited for them! It will be cool because Evan will have a little play mate closer to his age on the DeVries side. This will be our 10th niece or nephew! My brother and his fiance are expecting also in October so we are having a lot of little babies lately. Congradulations Corey and Heather! Cant wait! What a fun Christmas we will have this year!

Weekend

So far it has been a nice weekend. I am sitting at work right now bored, so I figured I might as well post. My brother finally came home Thursday night so we all went over to my parents last night for pizza to see him. It was so good to see him again. Today he graduates at 2 from Calvin. Unfortunatly I cant go because I am stuck here. Anyway, Ryan took the whole night last night getting up with Evan. It was SO nice. I have never ever had that since he has been born. I still woke up when he was crying, but it was so nice just to stay in bed and let Ryan deal with it. What a good hubby. :) Tonight I think we are just going to hang out and watch our last episode of Heroes. I am so addicted to that show now. Just one more commitment to a televison show. It is kinda ridiculous, but it is so good! Our friend always buys the seasons on DVD so we always just borrow it from him. Sunday, we will just go to church as usual and probably relax the rest of the day. Ryan might work outside on the landscaping if it is nice out. We will see. I dont think I have anything else to say so...Have a great weekend!

A Rainy Day

To me a rainy day is so refreshing. It is nice to just stay home today. Although I did have to go out today for Evan's therapy I came home right away after that. It was so nice not to go anywhere else. Evan and I took a two hour well needed nap. It was wonderful. I dont know what his deal is lately but he isnt sleeping great at night. Everyone keeps saying, "He's probably growing" which might be true but my hunch is that he might be getting an early tooth. We will see. I have never done this before so I could easily be wrong. Anyway-yesterday Evan had another head scan and it looked a little better since his last one 2 weeks ago, but not good enough to get out of wearing his helmet. He gets it next Friday and I am kinda excited. I made sure that it would get made in camoflauge. :) Daddy will be happy. Regardless, he is going to look so cute! Well...not much going on, so not a whole lot to say. Have a great rest of your rainy day.

Happy Mother's Day!

I had such an awesome Mother's Day. It was my first one and it was really special. Evan was baptized this morning which was wonderful on its own, and then we had our families over afterward to celebrate. We are so happy that God gave us Evan to raise and teach him about Christ. What a HUGE responsibility and its so cool that God believes in us so much He gave us Evan to grow up knowing Him. It was really cool to be able to "give" (not that he wasnt God's to begin with) him to God and say we know he was yours God before he was even born...you know the drift. It was just a cool picture. -Not only did we have baptisim today, but...I am SOO excited to say Dave and Wendi are FINALLY ENGAGED!! YAY!! Man, Dave had to put up with a lot from his sisters and mom...and even wendi I think a little too ;) Asking and asking when this was going to happen, and it is so cool that he did it on Mother's Day for her too. I am sure you can read all about it on Wendi's Blog. I am sure she'll have something up soon. But her ring is BEAUTIFUL!! Yay! Another wedding to help plan...(if you need me wendi!) Anyways-and my brother John comes home on Thursday this week. We are so excited to see him too. He has been in Hondorus (SP?) for the last 4 months going to school so we all cant wait to see him. He is going to flip I think when he see's Christi again and see how much thier baby has grown. Not that she is huge or anything, but she does have a cute little belly. Anywho--this has been a great day, and hopefully for all you mothers...hopefully it was a good mother's day for you too. Happy Mother's Day!!!

Tulip Time

My mother in law and sister in law and I went downtown last night to take photos of the kids. I got some really cute ones. Mostly of my nieces. Evan is too little to do anything anyway, so he only has one pose he can do. :) My nieces were so cute in thier costumes. Kenzie didnt really know what was going on and of course model Brooke was ready for the camera! It was fun to watch that. I cant wait until Evan is running around doing his own thing. Anyway- Evan had his frist physical therapy at Holland Rehabilitaion today. He did so good! I absoulutly love the girl he was with. She was so nice and so encouraging. She actually thought that maybe with agresive therapy he may not need a helmet. I go next week for his second head scan so I will talk to the doctor then. Not much else is going on this week. Just Tulip Time and landscaping the yard. Mother's day is Sunday, Evan is being baptized. We decided to just have family over after ward for a little get together. Nothing extravagent or anything. Anyway--I dont think there is anything else to say...Have a great week!

My New Camera!

I am so excited! Ryan and I went out tonight and got my "mother's day" gift. We have been talking about it for a little while and I wanted to get it for Tulip Time to take nice pictures. I had to show it off, I know, kinda corny but oh well. I am proud of it!

Rambling...

I have been so busy lately helping my brother's fiance with the wedding. It is kinda fun though. I think it is more fun then my own wedding just because it isnt my stress to worry about...all in all it is fun. Tomorrow Christi is coming into town again to do more planning
This week flew by. I cant believe it is Friday already. Next week, tulip time. Yay all of us who live in the Holland area. Really though, it shouldnt be that bad this year now that I have Evan to dress all cute and take down to the park to take pictures. I am actually looking forward to that. And the junk food of course. Ok, I guess Tulip Time insnt all that bad. My sister in law dutch dances so we will go out a night to watch. Anyway..that is all for now. Evan is screaming, better go help dad.
